Yipee!

I got an AmericanGirl doll for reading 100 chapter books. I named her Ashlei Noele.
Aren't her shoes cute!?
This is a closeup of her pajamas.

Mom even peirced Ashlei's ears! One of her holes is in a funny place! (See picture above.) These are all of Ashlei's earrings. (I lost the picture of her heart dangles!)

These earrings are the ones she came in.
This one I wouldn't call the cutest. SO sorry! I just LOST the rest of the pictures of Ashlei's "hair-dos" ! (There's some more pictures of her hair in this post.)

This one, too.
Cute huh?
Sunday?!?! All of Ashlei's dresses.
A(nother) Sunday dress!
Another one of her cute Sunday dresses.
Ashlei's " native dress" . She wears this when she travels out of the United States.( Sorry part of her head's cut off!!!)
Ashlei's " Easter dress" .( So cute!)
Ashlei's "spring dress" .
Ashlei's ADORABLE Christmas dress!
This is Ashlei's "traveling dress" that she wears when she travels far away from home.
Aren't these dresses all so cute!?
I put this thing on her head when she "sleeps" to keep her hair nice. (It really does work!!!!!!!!!!!)
Night-night, Ashlei!

K.J. and I went on a date with dad not too long ago. We went horseback riding up a mountain. It was my first time horseback riding. It's a lot easier than I thought. I'm pretty good at it. This picture was of me and K.J. with our horses before the ride. My horse's name was Beaver. K.J.'s was named Bambi. Dad's horse's name was Rhino.
This picture is of me on Beaver before the ride. Beaver was a troublemaker and was pretty hard to ride, but I managed it okay. Bambi, K.J.'s horse was just gentle and sweet. Dad's horse, Rhino wasn't too friendly.

This is a picture of K.J. standing beside Bambi before the ride. Bambi was a little bit bigger than Beaver, so for the first time in his life, K.J. was taller than me! Bambi was prettier too. Dad's horse was the prettiest though, and the biggest. Dad's horse was humongous! Dad's horse was black and a Clyde'sdail.

This picture is of me and K.J. riding up the mountain on our horses. You have to lean forward and put your feet backward while going uphill and lean backward and put your feet forward while going downhill. This will balance the horse and keep it from stumbling.

This is a picture of me stopping my horse. you are supposed to lean back and pull up on the reins.

This is a picture of me and K.J. standing outside before the ride. I love horseback riding. It is lots of fun. So, thank you dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My ears

I got my ears pierced in April, the last day of our family vacation. As you can see, I got little pink flowers with a little tiny white diamond in the middle. It didn't hurt, it just felt like a hard pinch. But anyway, now I have my ears pierced and I'm glad I chose to do so!

Mesa Verde

For our family vacation in April, we went to Mesa Verde. This post tells about the neat stuff I learned there. We had to drive fifteen miles up the mountain to get there. Travel back 1,500 years with me, and let's explore the world of the Anasazi! ( pronounced ona-sauzie)

There were often passages like these two pictures next to kivas. ( you'll learn about kivas later in this post.) The rangers didn't tell us what they were for. I think they were used to get in and out of the kiva. When you comment, tell me what you think they were used for.

Tower. Room at the top. When a new baby was born, the parents would cut off the umbilical cord, and hang it from a window in a tower, like this one. If the baby died, they believed that the baby became part of the ceiling in that room.

Ceiling of a room. Not very safe. I bet the rain got right in!

Sorry it's blurry! Inside of a room. There is a passage that leads to another room. I bet you can see it , it's at the back of the room.

These two pictures are pictures of kivas. Kivas are kitchens or places where the indians had family reuinions. Kiva means "Room underneath."

I liked Mesa Verde. It was lots of fun! Fun Fact: Some of the trees in Mesa Verde are over 1,000 years old!
